The 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings have been released, and it is great news for China’s higher education sector. The rankings show that a total of 12 universities from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong SAR have made it to the top 100 global ranking, with some universities making significant progress from their previous positions. Tsinghua University has emerged as the best-performing university in Asia, claiming the 16th spot in the world rankings. Peking University and the University of Hong Kong also made it to the top 50.
