To choose the safest country in the world, it is important to take various factors into consideration. One useful tool for assessing a country’s safety is the Global Peace Index (GPI). Australian technology entrepreneur and philanthropist, Steve Killelea, founded it. The GPI is produced annually by the Institute for Economics and Peace, and it offers valuable insights and rankings for 163 countries.

The GPI evaluates a country’s level of Negative Peace across three domains of peacefulness: ongoing domestic and international conflict, social safety and security, and militarization. Each domain is assessed using several indicators, including conflicts, crime rates, political stability, displacement, and military build-up.
