Two days later, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed reports that Ukrainian aircraft had employed Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles, sourced from Britain, to strike industrial sites within the Russian-held city of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine. 

Although the exact supply is unknown, it appears that the availability of the Storm Shadow missile is limited. Despite its deployment in Iraq, Libya, and Syria, the British stockpile of these missiles has remained unchanged since receiving an estimated 900-1,000 units in 2003.

According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, deploying the missile in the region could compel Russia to disperse its aircraft across multiple bases in occupied Crimea to minimize the risk of destruction.
