My Experience of Obtaining PMP Certification in 2020

Gain insights into a meticulously planned PMP certification preparation strategy, utilizing online courses from SPOTO.

Finally, I have acquired PMP certification after a long-time preparation. It is very lucky for me to obtain the certificate against the backdrop of the pandemic.

As for how I took the PMP exam prep, I decided to take the exam on February. Recommended by my friends, I chose the online courses of SPOTO and started preparing for the PMP exam on June. I watched the teaching videos every day. The exam was delayed because of the pandemic.

PMP Certification Preparation

First, I made a plan of learning. Making a plan is important. I followed the PMP certification training courses strictly so that I could better find out my weaknesses and take targeted measures.

The other thing is to catch up with the progress of the whole class, you can better communicate with your teachers and classmates to identify problems and help you further consolidate your knowledge. When watching the video explaining questions, taking down notes carefully so that you can better answer the questions of PMP sample test. If time allowed, you can do more PMP exam sample questions and review on time.

Second, review and do exercises repeatedly.

The number of questions I have done is over 3000. Doing so many questions is not only for consolidating knowledge but for mastering the rules and philosophy of project management. If you can master 80% of these questions, you are likely to pass the PMI PMP exam. As for the knowledge of ITTO, I recommend writing all the input-output-tool techniques and make a mind map of the corresponding relationships, and writing more notes and comments on the key knowledge points. Looking through the notes you take to deepen the impression.

Third, take sample tests.

It is suggested to do the sample test as if you are in the real exam site. Take a whole piece of time to finish the test so that you can better adjust to the real exam pace. While taking the exam, you need to fill in the answer sheet, so it is necessary to allocate the time properly. Read the questions quickly and find the key words based on which to choose the answer.

The test lasts for four hours consisting of 200 questions in Chinese and English. Almost one to two questions are printed on a page. You need to read one question by using about one minute. You need to get used to the reading speed in daily training. If you are good at English, you can just read the English. Choose the answer directly. Avoid looking at the question again and again, which is a waste of time. You should make sure that you can finish all the questions and fill the answers in the answer sheet. You can mark the questions you are confused with and look back when other questions are done.

When you are checking the exam paper, you can take a mark after every 50 questions so that you will not fill the answers in the wrong positions.
